CYP Encounter Israel - Winter Trips

Now, more than ever, Israel needs us. This CYP Encounter Israel trip is more than just an experience-it’s a mission.

Join young Jewish professionals (ages 22-39) from around the world for a unique opportunity to support Israeli communities and individuals deeply impacted by the war. This trip, in partnership with Birthright’s volunteer initiative, is designed to bolster and uplift those in need through hands-on service, connection, and solidarity. While giving back, you’ll also immerse yourself in Israel’s vibrant culture, explore its rich history, and experience an unforgettable Shabbat in Jerusalem.

 Upcoming Trip Dates & Group Flights

• Dec 24–31, 2025: Group flights available from:

  Houston (IAH) with YJP Houston & with CYP Omaha, Nebraska

  Chicago (ORD) with CYP Mequon, Wisconsin.

  
  

• Feb 15–24, 2026: Group flights available from New York (JFK) with CYP Upper East Side Manhattan and Chabad Young Kansas City.

  
  

Important Note:

 Due to the current situation in Israel, trip dates and group flights may shift by a day or two at the discretion of Birthright. If the adjusted dates no longer work for you, you will be reimbursed. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance for added peace of mind.

• If you’re not flying from one of the designated group flight cities, please refer to the alternative flight options listed below.

Application Process:

1️⃣ Step One: Fill out the CYP Encounter Israel application 

2️⃣ Step Two: Once accepted, you will receive an email with instructions to register on Birthright and complete their process, including paying the additional $600 fee OR selecting the alternative flight option.

3️⃣ Step Three: Finalize your travel details and get ready for an incredible experience of giving and growth.

Pricing:

Total Cost: $1,200 

Breakdown:

$600 Birthright Contribution Covers:

• Round-trip flights (if joining from group flight locations – see details below)

• Hotel accommodations in Jerusalem, including breakfast

• Mandatory daily volunteering (4 hours per day) supporting communities affected by the war

• transportation for volunteer activities

  
  

$600 CYP Encounter Fee Covers:

• Exclusive tours and cultural experiences

• Deeply impactful visits and insightful discussions

• Unforgettable Shabbat meals and programming

  
  

$200 Discount Available If you have a CYP Academy voucher, your CYP Encounter cost drops to $400, bringing the total trip cost to $1,000. (Without a voucher, the total cost is $1,200.)

Flight Options:

Participants have two options for travel:

1️⃣ Join the Birthright group flight for $600 (includes full program participation).

2️⃣ Book your own flight and pay only $50 to cover the Birtright program fee.

This flexibility allows participants to choose the best travel arrangement for their needs.

 Participants will be hosted in comfortable Jerusalem-based hotels as part of the Birthright program.

Meet fellow participants and prepare for an immersive experience in Israel.

Daily Schedule:

• Morning & Afternoon:

  • Participate in daily hands-on volunteer work supporting displaced families, rebuilding efforts, and humanitarian projects.

  • Work with local communities and individuals affected by the war, providing direct aid and support.

• Afternoon & Evenings:

  • Discover Israel’s incredible history and culture with guided tours, exclusive speakers, and insightful discussions.

  • Connect with Israeli citizens and leaders making a difference.

• Shabbat in Jerusalem:

  • Experience a deeply meaningful and uplifting Shabbat filled with joyous meals, spiritual inspiration, and unforgettable moments.
